3 Easy Working Fridge Ideas in Minecraft

Every Minecraft kitchen needs its own refrigerator. The three fridge ideas in this article are functional, cute, and super easy to make for yourself!

How to Make a Basic Working Fridge in Minecraft

To make a simple working fridge in Minecraft, you’ll need the following materials:

  • One Block of Iron
  • One Dispenser
  • One Iron Door
  • One Stone Button
  • 9x Blocks of Ice (or whatever other item you would like the fridge to dispense)

Begin by placing the Block of Iron on the ground.

Place the Dispenser on top of it. You can switch the location of the two if you want your items to be dispensed lower.

Place the Iron Door against the two blocks. This can be done by placing the door while standing on top of the Dispenser.

Add the Stone Button to the side of the Dispenser.

Now fill the Dispenser with your chosen block. I used Ice.

How to Make a Modern Double-Door Fridge in Minecraft

For this modern refrigerator design, you’ll need the following materials:

  • Two Dispensers
  • Two Smooth Stone blocks (or any other block of your choice)
  • Two Stone Buttons
  • Two White Banners
  • Two Black Dyes
  • Four White Dyes
  • A Loom for dying the banners.

Start by making the banner for the left side of the refrigerator. Place one White Banner and one Black Dye into the loom. Select the “Pale Sinister” design.

Place the banner back into the loom with a White Dye this time. Select the “Paly” pattern and add it to the banner.

Place the banner into the loom one last time with a second piece of white dye. Select the “Bordure” pattern to complete the banner.

Add the second White Banner to the Loom with the remaining Black Dye. Choose the “Pale Dexter” design first.

Just like with the other banner, we’ll add it back into the Loom with the White Dye and choose the “Paly” pattern.

We’ll finish this banner off with a white “Bordure” pattern just like the previous one. This creates the same door design with the handle on the opposite side of the banner.

With the door designs done, we can place the two building blocks side by side with the Dispensers on top of them.

Attach the two banners to these blocks to give them the appearance of a two-door refrigerator.

Now the Stone Buttons can be added on the side of each Dispenser. Food, ice, or other goods can be stored here and retrieved by pressing the button.

How to Make a Wooden Fridge for Food Storage in Minecraft

The first two fridges on this list use Dispensers to automatically give food to the player. However, not everyone has easy access to Redstone or other precious materials to make those kinds of refrigerators. This design is just as useful and only requires wood. The ingredients include:

  • Four Barrels
  • Two Spruce Doors (or another kind of door if you don’t have access to spruce wood).

Begin this design by placing two Barrels side by side and stacking another row of Barrels on top of them.

Next, get on top of the Barrels and place the two Spruce Doors. Doing them from here will ensure that the doors lie flat against the stack of Barrels.

You’ll be able to open the doors to easily access the contents of the Barrels. If you wanted to add a Dispenser here, one of the Barrels could easily be substituted for one.
